This session will focus on Standard 3 (Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge) initially as we get to know the curriculum and the progression within it, together with how to plan an effective series of lessons. We will discuss and share a range of teaching ideas that will help to bring abstract concepts to life, which will support work towards Standards 2 and 4 (Promote good progress and Plan and teach well-structured lessons). The main aims:
- Understand content and progression through the National Curriculum
- Familiarise with key assessment documentation
- Understand a clear teaching sequence for science
- Understand expectations for ‘Working Scientifically’
- Explore a range of creative teaching ideas
Trainer : Liz Southwell, Think About Learning
Post Task: Plan and teach a science lesson and bring evidence and evaluations to share in the second session.
