This session will define what reading teaching requires across KS1 and KS2 beginning with phonics, reading texts aloud and basic comprehension in KS1 to teaching a wider range of mature skills in KS2. We will discuss techniques and opportunities that can be threaded into classroom practice throughout the day that will spark the love of reading and enhance the children’s engagement in reading activities.
