Guidance—What’s it all about?
The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) is an independent charity dedicated to breaking the link between family income and educational achievement. The EEF publishes accessible summaries of educational research to guide teachers and senior leaders on how to use resources to improve learning outcomes. The EEF’s SEND Guidance is published on 6th December 2019 and Tom will provide an overview of the guidance and how it can be used to improve outcomes for children with SEND.

Supporting Children with Developmental Language Disorder
Children with DLD have problems with language development that continue into school age and beyond. The language problems have a significant impact on everyday social interactions or educational progress, and occur in the absence of autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability or a known biomedical condition. In his session, Stephen will talk about identification of DLD and how children with DLD can be supported in school.

Attachment disorder is a broad term used to describe a series of emotional and behavioural problems that can develop in young children who struggle to form expected bonds to primary caregivers, usually their parents. Juliette will be talking about attachment development and how schools can respond to children with disrupted or insecure attachment relationships, plus the benefits of this for children’s resilience
